SANTA CRUZ ISLAND - GALAPAGOS

Santa Cruz is an island in the Galapagos National Park of Ecuador, known for its white sandy beaches such as Playa El Garrapatero and Tortuga Bay. The town of Puerto Ayora is the tourist hub of the archipelago. Here, the Charles Darwin Research Station has a breeding programme for the endangered giant tortoises, which live in a wild environment in the El Chato Reserve.
